Custom AI model development

Your own model, hosted where you choose.

Most businesses are fine on a hosted endpoint. It comes down to where the data has to stay, or what the model has to sound like. This is the work for the second kind.

  • Runs on hardware you control
  • Open weights, no licence to renew

What custom AI model development is

Custom AI model development covers two things a hosted endpoint cannot offer you at all. The first is a model that runs on infrastructure you own, so records never leave your network. The second is a model tuned to your own material, whether that means the language of your industry or the voice your software answers in.

When a hosted endpoint is not enough

A general model behind somebody else's API is the right answer most of the time, and it is worth saying so. It stops being the right answer when the data cannot leave, or when the cost per call outgrows a server.

  • 01

The records are not allowed to leave

Some material cannot be sent to a third party. That rules out a hosted endpoint.

  • 02

The bill grows with the traffic

Per call pricing is cheap until volume arrives. At a certain point your own hardware is simply cheaper.

  • 03

The general model does not speak your language

Industry terms get mangled by a model trained on everything. Tuning on your own material fixes what prompting cannot.

What we build here

  • 01

    Private model deployment

An open weight model running on your own hardware, or in your own cloud account. No data leaves, and no per call meter runs.

  • 02

    Tuned on your own material

Fine tuning teaches a model the vocabulary your work uses. It is the fix when prompting stops being enough.

  • 03

    Speech in and speech out

Transcription for what people say to your software, and generated speech for what it says back. Both can run privately.

How the first three weeks run

  1. Week 1

01We check whether you need this

Two days on the constraint that made you ask. Sometimes a hosted endpoint configured properly is the honest answer.

  2. End of week 2

    02You get a costed plan

The plan prices the hardware and the work. You decide whether the move is worth it.

  3. From week 3

03It runs beside what you have

The private model goes up alongside the hosted one, and both answer the same questions. Comparing them on your own material is the test.

A hosted endpoint against your own model

Most projects should start hosted. This compares them for the cases where that stops working.

Where a custom model earns its place

Three situations where a hosted model is the wrong tool. Each has a page of its own below.

Your own infrastructure

Material that cannot leave the building

An open weight model runs inside your network and the records never reach anybody else. What you give up is some capability, and what you get is a boundary you can point at.

Your product's interface

Speaking instead of tapping

Somebody says what they want instead of tapping through four screens of form fields to get there. The words are transcribed and turned into the action intended.

Your recorded audio

Conversations that become records

Calls and sessions are transcribed, then structured into searchable notes. Where the audio is sensitive, transcription runs on your hardware.

What you give up and what you get

Your own model is a trade rather than an upgrade. It is worth making deliberately, and it is worth being told when it is not.

You get a hard boundary
Data on your hardware does not reach anybody, by architecture.
You give up some capability
The largest hosted models are still ahead on hard reasoning.
You take on the upkeep
Somebody has to run it. Usually us, and it is a real cost either way.

What a private deployment is built from

Open weight models and ordinary infrastructure. Nothing here is a requirement, and the work goes ahead against whatever hardware you already have.

I have to be honest, sometimes it's hard to find a company or someone abroad to do your project. Not only might you waste your time and money, there is this thing called trust. In business you must trust the person you are dealing with.

Frequently asked questions

Do custom AI voice models handle accents and other languages?

Languages yes, accents less well than the marketing suggests. Word error rates climb with an unfamiliar accent or background noise, which is measurable and worth measuring on your own recordings before committing. Tuning on your own audio is the fix, and it is a large part of why this service exists.

How do microphone permissions and consent work?

Consent gets asked for in the interface before anything records, and what happens to the audio afterwards is decided in the same conversation. Store reviews look closely at anything touching a microphone, so those decisions belong in the build rather than at submission.

Should processing run on the device or in the cloud?

On the device when the audio cannot travel or the connection is unreliable, and in the cloud when the reasoning matters more. Smaller local models are noticeably weaker, so the honest version is that this is a trade rather than a free choice.

When is private AI model deployment actually worth it?

When data residency requires it, or when the volume makes per call pricing more expensive than a server. Below those thresholds a hosted endpoint with retention switched off is usually the better answer, and we will say so in week two.

What does speech-to-text AI integration involve?

Getting audio into your system, transcribed, and turned into something the software can act on. The transcription is the easy half. Deciding what a sentence means and what to do about it is where the work is.

How is this different from the pages below it?

This page is the decision and they are the builds. Fine tuning a private model and adding voice to telephony are the two specific jobs. Each has a page of its own.

half of the job.
